Biden’s 2023 State of the Union address – 2/7 (FULL LIVE STREAM)

Join Post reporters as President Biden delivers the 2023 State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Feb. 7. The economy, police reform and the war in Ukraine are expected to be key topics in Biden’s speech.

The speech — his third time addressing a joint session — comes as Biden faces scrutiny for his handling of classified documents and at the unofficial beginning of the 2024 election season. A Democratic-controlled Senate and Republican-controlled House remain at odds.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) will preside over the address alongside Vice President Harris. The parents of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died after he was brutally beaten by Memphis police officers, will be in attendance. They will be joined by Brandon Tsay, who disarmed a gunman who killed 11 people in Monterey Park, Calif., in January. Shortly after Biden’s address, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will give the Republican response.

Libby Casey will anchor live coverage, along with James Hohmann, in The Washington Post newsroom. Rhonda Colvin will report live from the U.S. Capitol, and Tyler Pager will be outside the White House. Live analysis will come from Dan Balz, Paul Kane, Leigh Ann Caldwell and Marianna Sotomayor, along with other Post journalists throughout the night. Read more: https://wapo.st/3YBjqNx.
