Charlie Duffy, a mentally challenged man who thinks he’s Batman. He sees his messy apartment as the Batcave and Mike, his caregiver, as Alfred. As kids, Charlie and his friend, Clarissa, would dress up and play Batman and Robin. Clarissa got involved with a drug dealer, whom Charlie sees as the Joker.
Amidst an argument the dealer stabs Charlie and Clarissa him just leave Charlie there bleeding. Later, Charlie and Mike go watch a new grittier Batman Movie, inspiring him to be mean. One night Clarissa seeks refuge in Charlie's apartment after stealing from the dealer. He shows up at the apartment and starts to beat Clarissa until Charlie appears in his new Bat suit and immediately trips. The dealer starts beating him until Clarissa runs away.
He chases after her and starts beating her in the street until Charlie shows up armed with a baseball bat. Charlie hits the dealer in the face, but his goons jump Charlie. Eventually the entire neighborhood decides to intervene in the fight to help Charlie. Afterwards Mike tells Clarissa she needs to turn her life around because Charlie just risked his life to save hers. Later, we see a cleaned-up Clarissa. She talks to Mike and says she's going away. Charlie comes out asking Mike who he's talking to, and Mike says himself. Charlie goes to work, singing the Batman theme.
