50 Whales Die After Washing Ashore

It was an unsettling sight along the beaches of Scotland. Rescuers counted a pod of about 50 pilot whales that washed ashore. Dozens of them died after being stranded and not in the water. Marine biologists believe the pod followed its mother who swam to the beach after having birthing complications. Pilot whales are known for their strong social bonds.
