Javali gigante enfrenta cachorro

O javali é um animal de hábitos noturnos, que tem uma alimentação abrangente, indo de insetos e plantas até animais em decomposição. É um parente do porco doméstico, já que o mesmo é considerado um porco-selvagem (ambos da família Suidae). O nome científico do javali é Sus scrofa.

Há registro de 12 subespécies de javali, são estes: javali-europeu, javali-dos-cárpatos, javali-do-ussuri, javali-indiano, javali-malaio, javali-norte-africano, javali-japonês, javali-maremano, javali-da-anatólia, javali-da-ásia-central e javali-do-mediterrâneo.

O javali é um animal que demonstra ser bravo na presença de humanos, mas convive em harmonia em grupos da espécie. Muito desse fato se dá à constante caça que há em torno desse animal, que por suas capacidades reprodutivas relevantes e por sua expansão invasiva, necessita de um controle estrutural, onde muitos machos adultos são os únicos que podem ser predados.

Ha un'ampia distribuzione geografica, essendo originaria dell'Europa, dell'Asia, delle Isole della Sonda e del Nord Africa. In tempi recenti, la sottospecie di cinghiale è stata introdotta nelle Americhe e in Oceania.
