San Fran NAACP REJECTS $5M Per Person Reparations Payment Proposal. Here’s Why… | Roland Martin

The San Francisco NAACP rejects the $5 million Reparation proposal proposed by the San Francisco Reparations committee.

The San Francisco chapter of the NAACP says the potential plan should be disbursed by investments and opportunities for the Black community, not direct cash payments.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors embraced the 111 recommendations from the city-appointed reparations committee, including lump-sum payments of $5 million to every eligible black citizen, guaranteed incomes of $97,000 per year for 250 years, elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, and homes for just $1.

The San Francisco Reparations committee's final report is due to the Legislature on July 1. On Friday, Dr. Amos C. Brown President of the NAACP San Francisco Branch and a San Francisco reparations task force member spoke with Roland Martin about his NAACP branch's stance on the reparations proposal.
